My mom is an
amazing person for many reasons but most recently she decided to donate one of her kidneys to her older brother Jimmy. For almost one year my uncle has been on dialysis and his health was really starting to decline. My mom offered that she wanted to donate one of her kidneys and about 10 months later she did. For her the recovery was fine, she always has had a hard time coming out of the anesthesia but after the first couple of days she was starting to feel better. I was able to go home for a week and be there with my mom while she was in the hospital. I am so grateful that I was able to be there, she is so special to me. Now, we just need to make sure that she takes it easy for the next few weeks and doesn't do more than she really should. As for my uncle he is doing better than ever and life is great.

That was a super sweet post...I can't believe how much you and your mom look alike...especially if you had blond hair (like I remember) Any way, that was so nice of your mom...she really must be the cream of the crop! Glad they are both doing well!
Seriously...what an act of selfless service! A wonderful example! Thank you for sharing.
What a cool woman! I bet she was so glad to have you there! I am so happy for you that everything worked out for the best!
Cute sisters and family...it's fun to see pics of them.

That is so great that your mother did that! How amazingly selfless of her. I hope all works out for your uncle and your mom's recovery.
