Construction

There has been some construction at our house... unwanted construction.

I woke up on Thursday morning after we had a really nice rain storm and found that the kitchen had been flooded from a leak in the ceiling, actually many leaks. Now this is particularly confusing because we are on the bottom floor with someone living above us... oh well.

This is my attempt to catch all the water until maintenance could come.

Maintenance came and decided that they would need to remove a portion of sheet rock on the wall and ceiling and bring in a dehumidifier to dry out all the wood framing, they also had to remove part of the cabinets so all of the dishes and other items were hauled into the living room.

The kitchen was then taped off, thus we could not cook for a few days. Thank you Guymons for dinner, it was fabulous.

After they let the dehumidifier run for a day they came and put in the sheet rock and did the texturing and the painting . Yeah!!

5 Days later its finished!!

I am so glad it is finished, now I just need to get everything put back.

I really enjoy it when we get rain here because there isn't much variation in the seasons, but this rainstorm wasn't particularly my favorite.
